Your own image on a shirt — start with these details
When you already have the image ready and want to get the shirt into print, you can start right away. Start the design now: /suunnittele-ja-tilaa/ (in Finnish). In the online designer you give the image, the details of the shirt to be printed, the quantity, the print placement and the day the shirts have to be in use, and the calculator shows a price estimate directly as part of the order. The calculator price is an estimate, not a binding final price.
If you are ordering printing to Helsinki, the order is placed in the online design tool the same way as orders delivered anywhere else. Pickup is possible only from the Lauttasaari location and visits are arranged by appointment — mention a pickup or visit request with your order and we will agree on it separately. Street addresses are not published on the service pages.
What kind of image is coming to print
Send the image as it is right now, whether it is a logo file, a photograph or a designer's draft. Tell us at the same time the intended width of the image in centimetres and whether you want the background to stay transparent. Is the image going on the chest, the back or both?
Exact file requirements are not given here; what matters is whether the image is sufficient for this particular print. We check that before the print is confirmed, so attach the original file if you still have one.
Your own shirt, or a garment to be agreed separately
You can also ask for printing on your own garments, as long as the garments are new and unused; we do not accept used garments. Material suitability is assessed before the work is carried out, so tell us the shirt's brand and model, the full fibre composition on the care label and the colour, and attach a front and a back photo of every garment type. Also tell us if the batch contains more than one model, colour or material.
We confirm the print only once we have assessed the garment. This avoids the situation where the image is ready but the garment is not suitable for printing. More about your own garments on /en/print-on-your-own-garments/.
The method is chosen according to the image and the garment
The image is printed on the shirt either as a DTF transfer (an image printed on film and fixed with heat) or as an HTV print (heat transfer vinyl). DTF transfers can be ordered for your own heat press or printed onto a finished garment. HTV is a printing method that is assessed separately. Tell us at the time of ordering, on /suunnittele-ja-tilaa/ (in Finnish), whether you need DTF transfers for your own press or finished printed garments, because that determines what the delivery includes.
The method chosen for the work is decided on the basis of the image, the material and the intended use. So tell us briefly what the shirts are going to be used for. The differences between the methods are explained on /dtf-vs-htv/ (in Finnish), but the recommendation for this particular job is given only once the artwork and the garment have been checked.
Do you offer DTG printing?
We do not offer DTG printing, that is Direct-to-Garment printing, even though it is often searched for. We print T-shirts using the DTF or the HTV method depending on the artwork, the material and the intended use.
Tell us the quantity, the placement and the schedule
Write the quantity and the size distribution into your order, and the print placement in your own words, for example left chest or full back. Also mark the day the shirts have to be in use, and mention it if that is tied to an event. The schedule is not fixed before the artwork and the garment have been checked.
